Liquid chromatography: triterpenic acids peak just before spore release
Researchers used liquid chromatography to measure 10 triterpenic acids at different growth stages of lingzhi. Total triterpenic acids were highest in the early spore-release stage and fell markedly in the late spore-release stage; ganoderic acid A was the most abundant.
