Background
The more controlled the growing conditions, the more consistent the quality
A large-scale survey by the Institute of Edible Fungi of the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences found that no single growing region produced the highest levels of active components in every variety, and no single variety performed well wherever it was grown; what matters is how well region and variety suit each other. Weather varies from year to year and also affects component levels, so the more temperature, humidity, light and ventilation can be controlled during cultivation, the more consistent lingzhi quality will be.
