Popular question

Is wild lingzhi better than cultivated?

Many people think wild lingzhi is more precious, but that is not the case. Nearly a hundred wild species of the Ganoderma genus have been found in China; most have never been studied for efficacy or toxicity, and they are often mixed with other polypore fungi that are hard to tell apart. There is no evidence that wild lingzhi is better than cultivated lingzhi, and wild lingzhi is also prone to insect damage and mold. The more controlled the growing conditions, the more consistent the quality of lingzhi.
