Research overview

Kidneys

In a randomized controlled study in China, 82 patients with nephrotic syndrome received Bozhi injection on top of steroid treatment; the overall response rate was clearly higher than in the control group on steroids alone, and fewer relapsed after their urine protein turned negative. Note that this study used another species of the Ganoderma genus, “Ganoderma capense”, and that it was an injection, not taken by mouth. There is also related research on lingzhi in nephritis and gout.
